Doug Pusey - Boys U-9
Doug has coached LYA intramural soccer the last 2 years and looks forward to fielding a competitive U9 boys travel team for the 2010-11 season. He has also enjoyed coaching LYA baseball and Upward basketball the last 2 years. He grew up playing for West Chester United soccer club and played Div III soccer at Gettysburg College. Doug and his family live in Uwchlan Twp
Travis Eckels - Girls U-10
Travis is starting his 2nd year of coaching soccer, which includes his most recent experience coaching within LYA. In addition to soccer, Travis has had experience coaching various other sports within both LYA and GEYA including softball and tee-ball. Travis grew up in Altoona, PA where participated in several sports including football and wrestling. Travis resides with his family in Chester Springs.
John D'Angelo - Boys U-10
In his first year as the U9 Boys Travel team coach, John lead his newly established team to their first Championship title in a highly competitive division. John took his 15 years experience as a player and coach to teach the importance of teamwork and learning the fundamentals of the game first. This strategy paid off, as the boys grew together and bonded as a team to reach a level of play far beyond the U9 level. John will continue to build his team with the goal to participate in the 'Premier' division in a few years. John and his team also attended many tournaments across the Eastern Coast and placed in all of them, allowing the team to gain valuable experience playing a variety of Clubs. John still holds the title of President of Lionville Soccer Club and will start working with the local professional teams (Philadelphia Union and Independence) to bring more experience and exposure to the Lionville Soccer Club..
Scott Platt - Girls U-11
Scott is in his 3rd year as Head Coach of the Lionville Storm. In addition to coaching the Storm, Scott has over 6 years experience coaching recreational soccer and softball teams. Growing up in Hershey, PA, Scott played youth soccer and played varsity soccer at Milton Hershey School. In college, Scott played intramural soccer at West Chester University.. He and his family reside in Uwchlan Township. Scott has taken an active role in partnering with the Philadelphia Independence Professional Women’s Soccer team with hopes of providing the Lionville Storm and Lionville Soccer Club an opportunity to be exposed to professional soccer by organizing group outings to games, participating in pre-game events, training, and meeting the pro players.
Mike Meluskey - Girls U-11
Mike has 15 years experience coaching boys and girls in both youth sports and Middle School sports at various levels. He has 5 years coaching youth soccer at the recreation level with GEYA and is entering his second year as an assistant coach with the Lionville Storm. Mike and his family reside in Upper Uwchlan Township.
Susan Barr - Boys U-11
Licenses: NYSW "D" License
Susan Barr has been coaching soccer for over 17 years. As a player, she grew up playing in NY, attending Cornell University as 4-year starter and All-Ivy player. She continues to play competitively in the area. Her coaching experience includes Head Coach at Columbus North HS in Columbus IN, coaching at various travel clubs and focusing on individual and small group training for top players in the area. She has served as VP for GEYA Soccer and has coached with Spirit, Phoenixville, and Columbus Express clubs. She holds a "D" license through NYSW soccer and plans to obtain a National "C" license next year R. Shawn Archambault - Girls U-13
Licenses: State "E"
Shawn has been coaching soccer for 8 years, 5 of which have been with LYA travel teams. Shawn currently has his E coaching license and will be working on his D license this August.
Matt Rogers - Boys U-15
Licenses: USSF National "D", NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeping
Matt is in his sixth year of coaching with the Lionville SC Tornadoes. He has been involved in soccer as a player for over 20 years, competing on several local club teams, the Owen J. Roberts High School PAC-10 Championship winning team, and traveling overseas to represent the United States in Belgium Cup '97. Matt holds the USSF National "D" Coaching License as well as the NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeping Certificates. In addition to his six years as head coach for the Tornadoes, Matt has worked as an assistant coach and trainer for clubs at a wide variety of age and competition levels.
